DROWNING POOL Singer Checks In From The Road

November 15, 2007

DROWNING POOL frontman Ryan McCombs has posted the following message on the group's MySpace page:

"You know, I'm pretty sure I should have something to blog but I just don't...

"I could blog about what I've done the past couple of days, but who really gives a flying fuck snake about doing laundry or riding on a bus so long that your brain goes goddamn numb.

"OHHHH, yes, the glorious life of a touring musician.

"Yesterday while traveling from PA to FL we stoped after a billion hours on the road, ate, watched more TV, drank and went back to bed. The biggest concern I have right now is if I used enough fabric softener sheets in the dryer, or maybe I used too many. I just don't know.

"I can tell you this much for sure: the first season of 'Dexter' is worth picking up. Ayelet (merch girl) and I got hooked on it quickly. A series about a serial killer,... society is fucked up.

"I mean, other than David (guitar tech) randomly showing his ass there really isn't much that goes down while traveling. And to be fair for that to be anything special he needs to change gender and become a lot less hairy. I've been thinking about taking up heroin to pass the time but I'm just too much of a puss when it comes to needles.

"I reckon the only point I can make here is when you hear a band person talk about how that time on stage makes everything worthwhile, you can really beleave they are being honest. The other night in Erie PA the crowd was so bad-ass, it's probably the only thing that carries us through this two-day off travel time.

"So here's a thought for you: Next time you're at a show and you're just standing there with your thumb cramed up your ass, cut loose and have a good time. You just might be the only thing between a tour continuing on and a musician offing himself in a dirty, smelly sick-ass shitter on a tour bus."

DROWNING POOL's video for the song "Enemy", which features animated versions of the band rocking out to the song, can be viewed below.

"Enemy" is the second video off DROWNING POOL's new CD, "Full Circle", which has sold more than 30,000 copies in the United States since its early August release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was produced by longtime friend Ben Schigel (CHIMAIRA, WALLS OF JERICHO),and features a collaboration track with MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx and BEAUTIFUL CREATURES' DJ Ashba.
