Ex-METALLICA Bassist NEWSTED Talks About 'Monster' Documentary: Audio Available

An 11-minute audio interview with former METALLICA and current VOIVOD/SUPERNOVA bassist Jason Newsted, conducted on Tuesday, June 27 by "The BJ Shea Morning Experience" on the Seattle station 99.9 KISW, has been posted online at this location. During the interview, Newsted talks about the METALLICA "Some Kind of Monster" documentary, the upcoming "Rock Star: Supernova" CBS-TV reality series, and the new VOIVOD album, among other topics.

SUPERNOVA — the new all-star band featuring Newsted, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee and former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke — will use the "Rock Star" TV program to search for a lead singer. "Rock Star: Supernova", the second season of the the Mark Burnett-created CBS-TV reality series, will premiere on Wednesday, July 5 at 8 p.m. ET. The show's second episode will air the following night (Thursday, July 6) before the series settles into its regular slots on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET and Wednesdays at 8. First season co-hosts Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist) and Brooke Burke will both return for "Rock Star"'s second edition.
