According to a posting on his official web site, legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) has been spending the past few weeks at his home base in Los Angeles writing and demoing material for his upcoming solo album. "As with 'Soul Mover', I am writing and compiling a lot of material. I feel this next release will be another adventure.

"Chad [Smith; RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer] and I will be flying into Europe next week. We are looking forward to our shows in Spain and Portugal. Hope to see you there."

Upcoming Glenn Hughes shows:

Sep. 30 - Sala Jam - Bergara, SPA
Oct. 01 - Sala Arena - Madrid, SPA
Oct. 02 - Assaig Club - Palma Mallorca, SPA
Oct. 04 – Bikini - Barcelona, SPA
Oct. 06 - Hard Club - Porto, POR

Hughes's latest solo album, "Soul Mover", was released earlier in the year on Sanctuary Records. The CD was recorded live at Sound Image Studios in Los Angeles in the spring of 2004 and features Smith on drums, JJ Marsh on guitar and Ed Roth on keyboards. The album also contains a special guest appearance by ex-RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro on the title track.
