KIUAS To Headline 'Revolution Begins' Festival In Maldives

August 31, 2008

Finnish power metallers KIUAS have been invited to play a special show at Maldives on September 5. The band will headline Revolution Begins, a free metal festival that is being held as part of the Alimas Carnival in the nation's capital Malé. Also scheduled to appear are rising local metal bands SERENITY DIES, STYGIAN SHORES and NOTHNAGEL.

More information, visit www.revolutionbegins.net.

Unfortunately for Finnish fans, KIUAS has been forced to cancel its performance at Helsinki's Virgin Oil, scheduled for the same day as Revolution Begins.

KIUAS will support Greek metal heroes FIREWIND on a nine-show tour of England, Scotland and Ireland in late September. In November KIUAS will hit the road again with FIREWIND for a European tour covering 21 cities in 10 countries.

"The New Dark Age", the third and latest KIUAS album, was released in the UK via Spinefarm Records, accompanied by reissues of the first two outings, "The Spirit of Ukko" and "Reformation". All three now come with bonus tracks and expanded artwork.

"The New Dark Age" entered the official chart in the band's home country back in March at position No. 10.

An e-card for "The New Dark Age" is available at this location.

According to the band, "The [album's] cover art is the product of the visionary artist/musician Niklas Sundin (Cabin Fever Media). The picture is an original drawing in the style of reneissance woodcut illustrations, and portrays the members of KIUAS as the four — or in this case five — horsemen of the Apocalypse with a dismal landscape that combines ancient and modern times."

A video for the song 'Conqueror' was shot on February 18 with Owe Lingvall of Village Road Film and can be viewed below.

KIUAS is:

Ilja Jalkanen - Vocals
Mikko Salovaara - Guitars
Markku Näreneva - Drums
Atte Tanskanen - Keyboard
Teemu Tuominen – Bass
