LIMP BIZKIT's FRED DURST: 'I Create From My Heart'

February 21, 2003

LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst has posted the following message at www.limpbizkit.com:

"Wow is the word. Amazing how much shit leaking a song can stir up. Especially a song that comes from the gut. I went on MTVNews.com and couldn't believe how many sissy's [sic] have issues with my music. And I can't believe how many people assume 'Just Drop Dead' is about someone they know. It makes me chuckle, chuckle, uh, chuckle. And how cool is the media? Our friend or foe? It would be absurd to leak a 'lil somethin' somethin' to our fans before our new album comes out now, wouldn't it? What the fuck are we thinking? Am I out of my fucking mind? How could I do such a naughty thing. Bad Fred. Causing awareness is reading this news piece or this news piece of shit :o) I create from my heart and my true life exsperience [sic] to this day. Honest is exactly what our new album 'Bipolar' is. That is enough to frighten most. Can lyrics offend? Can lyrics compliment? Can lyrics be a true form of exspression [sic]? Can lyrics be the root of all evil? Oh, shut the fuck up, Fred. I'm glad people love and hate. Without the two, we would have no balance. So if you love the little sampler of 'Just Drop Dead', thank you and kiss my ass. If you hate it, thank you and kiss my ass. It's a lose-lose situation. Unfortunately, I had to go through a very painful exsperience [sic] to write that song. And believe me, the song is a very sugar-coated version of what I held myself back from saying. You don't hardly know me? Chuckle chuckle. We'll see who's being a sissy May 13. You'll be surprised to know. Know what? Know this, if that offended anyone then please don't even think twice about listening to 'Bipolar'. It is 3:47 am and I'm in [New York] wide awake!! Shit!! I guess I'll watch chopper again. Keep yourself posted and read the Enquirer. It's real like wrestling. Andy Wallace mixed the first song tonight and it rocks so hard!! Whoa!! I have to present at the Grammys on Sunday, but I don't know who with and for what category. Probably worst song leaked on the net right? Shut the fuck up, Fred!! Alright already."
