Memorial Service For TROUBLE Drummer Scheduled For Tomorrow

April 4, 2005

A chapel service for former TROUBLE/ZOETROPE drummer Barry Stern will be held Tuesday (April 5) at 1 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Park, Beth Shearim Chapel, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois. For more information, call Shalom Memorial Funerals at 847-255-3520 or visit www.shalommemorialpark-funerals.com.

Stern, 45, passed away on Friday, April 1. A cause of death has not yet been announced, but Barry was believed to have recently undergone hip-replacement surgery. He is survived by mother Louise, brother Arlen and sister Karen.

Stern played drums and sang on the first two ZOETROPE albums — 1985's "Amnesty" and 1987's "A Life of Crime" — before leaving to join the Chicago doomsters TROUBLE prior to the recording of their classic 1990 self-titled offering. He stuck around long enough to appear on the follow-up effort, 1992's "Manic Frustration".

A Legacy.com guestbook allowing allowing friends and family members to express condolences on Barry's passing has been launched at this location.
