OBSCURA Announces New Drummer

October 3, 2007

German death metal band OBSCURA has issued the following update:

"OBSCURA is excited to announce our friend Hannes Grossmann as the new permanent drummer. Hannes will start playing drums for OBSCURA on the upcoming tour during February/March starting February 22, 2008.

"Hannes did some incredible jobs in bands like DEVILS CRY or at least NECROPHAGIST and will also play on the next full-length of OBSCURA.

"Jonas Baumgartl [drums] and Jonas Fischer [bass] had to leave OBSCURA after the last tour because of scheduling conflicts and other obligations with their studies and other bands. They decided to break with OBSCURA to focus on their studies and are not able to go on tour anymore. We wish both of them all the best for their upcoming works or projects.

"So OBSCURA is now searching for a talented and skilled musician for the bass guitar. Get in touch through: [email protected]."

OBSCURA's upcoming CD will be recorded with V. Santura (DARK FORTRESS) at The Crypt Studios in Germany. The cover art and layout will be created by German artist Timo Wuerz.

Released last year, OBSCURA's debut album, "Retribution", was produced by Alex Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES) and includes guest appearances by V. Santura (DARK FORTRESS),Matthias Röderer (ATROCITY),Thorsten Bauer (ATROCITY) and Martl (PROFANITY).
