OMNIUM GATHERUM Begin Work On New Material

July 13, 2005

Guitarist Markus Vanhala of the Finnish death metallers OMNIUM GATHERUM has issued the following update:

"Harri Pikka and I have updated our guitar arsenal with a Gibson Flying-V and a Gibson Les Paul!

"OMNIUM GATHERUM have started composing the new stuff for the next album which is planned to be recorded next spring. The first rays of new stuff seems to be quite versatile. There's some basic OG melodic death metal things mixed with doomy metal, rock stuff, and even a Gary Moore solo section, so hazardous stuff is coming indeed. Beware! Maybe because it's summertime and Finnish summer = beer, grilled sausage, beer, beach-sauna, nude swimming, and lots more beer!

"OG are making festival appearances this year in Germany's Party.San Open Air in Bad Berka, and the following Finnish festivals: Tuska Festival in Helsinki, the Jalometalli Festival in Oulu, the Dark River Festival in Karhula, and at the Räntämetalli Icehall Festival in Kouvola."

OMNIUM GATHERUM's latest album "Years in Waste", was released in the U.S. in March via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Spirits and August Light" was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, Finland with producer Nino Laurenne and engineer Teemu Aalto.

OMNIUM GATHERUM have recorded cover versions of MEGADETH's "Hangar 18" and DEATH's "Suicide Machine" at the Woodbine Garden Studio for use as bonus tracks on upcoming releases.
