OSBOURNES Land At No. 12 On FORBES List of Most Powerful Celebrities

June 20, 2003

The Osbourne family, with Birmingham-born BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne at its head, came in 12th place on the 2003 Forbes annual list of the world's most rich and famous.

The family reportedly earned $28.8 million last year, primarily through the continued success of their "reality TV" show "The Osbournes", which is experiencing a significant ratings drop during its current, third season, according to published reports.

While earnings are considered an important factor, so are other criteria such as television and radio coverage, the number of newspaper articles and web site hits.

Particular weight is given to the number of magazine front pages a star has had during the year, because that is considered an indication of their commercial pulling power.

The Top 12 most powerful celebrities the world, according to Forbes:

01. Jennifer Aniston
02. Eminem and Dr. Dre
03. Tiger Woods
04. Steven Spielberg
05. Jennifer Lopez
06. Paul McCartney
07. Ben Affleck
08. Oprah Winfrey
09. Tom Hanks
10. Rolling Stones
11. Will Smith
12. Osbourne Family
