SAMMY HAGAR To Guest On ALICE COOPER's Radio Show

June 24, 2006

Sammy Hagar will be Alice Cooper's special guest on Cooper's radio show "Nights with Alice Cooper" airing on Wednesday, June 28. The program is a classic-rock format and is nationally syndicated on the United Stations Radio Networks. Air times differ, so make sure to check out NightsWithAliceCooper.com for more information.

Rhino Records has set a July 25 release date for the new SAMMY HAGAR AND THE WABOS album, entitled "Livin' It Up".

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Hagar said about the upcoming CD, "'Livin' it Up" is really a lifestyle record. It's not a metal record at all. I would say it's more American country rock than heavy metal rock, which is the type of music I've always played from MONTROSE through VAN HALEN. My intention was to just make a real honest record."

Written over the past year at his home in Cabo San Lucas, the album features original songs such as "One Sip and You'll Surrender" and "The Way We Live", as well as a rocking honky-tonk cover of TOBY KEITH's "I Love This Bar" and his version of the STAPLE SINGERS' "I'll Take You There", according to Billboard.com.

Sammy Hagar is doing double duty while on tour this summer. He's playing a full set with his band the WABORITAS, and he's also doing a full-on VAN HALEN performance with THE OTHER HALF, which includes VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and WABOS guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer David Lauser.

Several hours before each show on the tour, Hagar sets up a Cabo Wabo village that has food, drinks, mariachi bands, karaoke, and other diversions.
