SAXON's BYFORD Keeping The Faith

March 5, 2003

SAXON frontman Biff Byford has posted the following update to the group's official web site:

"Well hello again - Biff here, just a few words ...

"The news of Jeff Martin's death came as a huge shock and he will be missed by band, crew, and us all. Jeff was a regular sight at the front of stage at many SAXON concerts around the world, even at some sound checks ... Condolences to all his family, our thoughts are with you - we salute you .. Absent Friends

"You may have noticed that the band are getting a lot of front pages and articles lately, all the hard work we have been doing over the last few years is paying off, and in June we will be doing the double again this year! Gods of Metal in Italy on the 8th and the Rock Hard festival the same day!! How is this possible you may say? Well we have chartered a private jet as we are on stage at 5pm in Italy, then drive to the airport and fly to Dortmund to headline Rock Hard at 10pm - it will be tight but we will do it!

"We're gonna film it as well. We did a TV show for BBC (UK) on the 25th Feb in Cardiff for cable. The Welsh fans will know the show its a late night chat show with Steve Cable - it was great we played '747'!

"Now onto more trivial matters… OLIVER DAMSON [sic] — we won the court case on all points and they lost and will have to pay the costs, which are considerable. If any of you see any adverts, posters, CDs or anything that you feel is giving the impression that it is us that is being advertised for concerts, please take a photograph or a copy and send it to [our official webmaster]. We will then forward it to our lawyers - an example would be them using the 'Killing Ground' red background with a black SAXON logo and OLIVER DAMSON [sic] in very small print compared to the SAXON logo.

"Well that's all for now, oh I forgot - we have started writing the new album!

"Keep the faith

"Biff Byford"
