March 12, 2008

Virgin Entertainment Group, North America, the world's premier lifestyle entertainment retailer, has announced it has retained the services of Ashba Media — headed by SIXX: A.M./ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES guitarist DJ Ashba — as its new Creative Agency of Record for creative services for the North American chain of Virgin Megastores. The agency will be responsible for development of the company's overall creative platform, as well as the design and execution of consumer marketing communications, including advertising, collateral and in-store graphics and signage. Ashba Media will initially be tasked with developing creative for Virgin's monthly promotional campaigns as well as Virgin's V.I.P. loyalty program.

Virgin Entertainment Group has also re-signed the Los Angeles-based public relations agency SJ Communications for the seventh consecutive year to continue to develop and manage all media relations for the brand.

This announcement marks the company's further commitment to the brand's on-going diversifying strategy to offer the latest in fashion, DVD, games, electronics, books and music products.

"In the last couple of years the Virgin Megastores have expanded its core offer to bring a broad selection of key lifestyle products, including fashion, film, video games, personal electronics as well as music," explains Dee Mc Laughlin, VP of Marketing, Virgin Entertainment Group, North America. "We now need an agency who can help us spread the word to consumers that we have become more than just a music retailer, we are truly the leader in lifestyle entertainment retailing."

"Virgin Megastores are a leading destination for the best in live music entertainment and hip lifestyle products across the board and we feel the potential to create an even more compelling brand image is an exciting opportunity," states DJ Ashba, Creative Director/ CEO, Ashba Media.

Along with new marketing strategies, Virgin Megastores have implemented new online sites to help reach out to the millions of online users. Virgin Megastores recently launched a new retail site, www.VirginMega.com, which offers a deep catalog of music, fashion, electronics, books, games and DVD products. This fall the brand also launched a first-of-its-kind Social Media Newsroom which offers viewers the best in social and multi media content along with the traditional elements of a company press room. Also in early 2008 Virgin Megastores created an online Forum where people can dish about the latest in entertainment gossip, fashion must-haves, upcoming book releases, as well as the music and film industries directly with Virgin Megastore staff.
