IN FLAMES is recording its new CD with engineer Roberto Laghi (HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, LOK, SONIC SYNDICATE). A tentative May/June 2011 release is expected.
Good Fight Music is the new North American label home for the classic IN FLAMES catalog, starting with "The Jester Race" through "Soundtrack To Your Escape". These titles, which until recently were unavailable in the marketplace, were put back on music retailers' shelves and made available at digital stores (iTunes) on November 22, 2010. This new venture reunited the band with the team that released and marketed IN FLAMES' biggest commercial success in the United States — "Come Clarity". It was Good Fight's current team at the helm of Ferret Music when "Come Clarity" was released in 2006. The album became a benchmark in their career and further cemented the band's lofty place in the ranks of heavy metal's elite.
Guitarist Jesper Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction.
The band spent the last few months touring the world with Strömblad's temporary replacement, Niclas Engelin from the Swedish band ENGEL.
Engelin had helped IN FLAMES on a couple of occasions in the past and is no stranger to the band's songs or the touring life.
IN FLAMES's latest album, "A Sense of Purpose" (2008),shifted 20,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release. This was slightly less than the opening tally of "Come Clarity" (Ferret),which sold just under 24,000 copies in February 2006 to debut at position No. 58.
