TAPROOT To Play Pontiac This Weekend
May 6, 2008Ann Arbor, Michigan hard rock band TAPROOT has issued the following update:
"TAPROOT will be making a special appearance at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, MI this Saturday, May 10th. This is for The Loft's 20th anniversary of recording kick-ass music. This is where we recorded 'Our Long Road Home', and it's an honor for us to be able to be there for their 20th anniversary. We will be playing a very short set at midnight, about 20 minutes. If you have the means to come, stop by and check it out, there are a lot of bands playing and it will be nothing short of a good time. If you can't make it, we will be playing a full headlining set in Toledo, Battle Creek, and Flint on May 22, 23, and 24 as previously mentioned, with a tour shortly following. We hope to see all of you on the road. We can't wait to play some live shows again!"

TAPROOT has set an August 5 release date through Velvet Hammer Music for the group's new album, entitled "Our Long Road Home".
TAPROOT recently posted a new song, entitled "You're Not Home Tonight", on the group's official blog.
The band's follow-up to 2005's "Blue-Sky Research" was reportedly produced by Tim Patalan and is the group's first album since parting with Atlantic Records in June 2006. They're also reportedly working on a DVD, but there's no word as to when that will see the light of day.
Bassist Phil Lipscomb previously stated about the new CD's title, "[it] is a unique and expressive tribute to our newly found collective freedom of creativity as a band, with no strings attached. It's a tribute to the casual and comfortable settings of being at home with friends and family a place we love to be."

TAPROOT, which formed in 1997, is perhaps best known for its 2002 album, "Welcome". It included the hit singles "Poem" and "Welcome".
