THE USED Play Down The OSBOURNE Connection

January 12, 2003

If you've heard of THE USED, chances are it's because of MTV's "The Osbournes". Recent episodes of the show have featured Ozzy's daughter Kelly hanging with her new boyfriend, Bert McCracken, lead singer of THE USED.

Despite the exposure, the band have tried to play their singer's new status down. "We try to not talk about it," Jeph Howard, THE USED's bassist told San Diego CityBeat. "We try to get it away from us as much as possible because we don't want to be known for that." Howard is quick to qualify his response, though. "Kelly's one of the sweetest girls I've met in a long time, like, amazing," he said. "But it means nothing to our band. Like I've got a girlfriend. It means nothing to our music and to our band. We try to keep them apart."
