WAYSTED Part Ways With Guitarist CHRIS GEORGE

February 18, 2006

Guitarist Chris George has officially left WAYSTED, the reunited semi-obscure mid-'80s British heavy metal outfit led by UFO bassist Pete Way (hence the spelling of the group's name). George's statement on the matter reads as follows:

"After a whirlwind 18 months, I have come to the decision to leave WAYSTED. I've had a lot of great times but I now want to focus more on my own band and our continuing commitment with Marshall Amplification, our own live shows, and the various other projects I'm involved with.

"I wish Pete, Fin and Paul all the best in the future, I also thank the fans for accepting me into the band and hope you enjoyed every minute of our live shows. I certainly did! But I feel it's now time to move on."

WAYSTED's comeback CD, "Back from the Dead", was issued last year via Majestic Rock Records.
