CROM: Band Lineup For SWORDBROTHERS Performance Confirmed

August 31, 2008

German epic metal band CROM has confirmed the lineup for its appearance at the SwordBrothers Festival on September 13 at the Juz in Andernach, Germany. Vocalist and guitarist Walter "Crom" Grosse, who formed CROM in 2000 because he wanted to follow a different musical path to that of his former band DARK FORTRESS, will be joined by CROM guitarist Asvargr (DARK FORTRESS),Martin (MIDNIGHT RIDER) on bass and DESASTER's Tormentor on drums.

Commented Grosse: "The live lineup was undergoing a change just as SwordBrothers came up, and before I could form a permanent one, so I'm very grateful to Tormentor and Martin for stepping in at such short notice. They are both very accomplished and experienced musicians and had no problem at all picking the material up very quickly. This will also be the first time that we play the whole of the 'Vengeance' saga live so it's going to be something of a special event for us, and, we hope, the audience."

Other bands scheduled to appear at SwordBrothers include STEEL PROPHET, EXILED, METALHEAD, CONQUEST OF STEEL, HOLY MARTYR, SNAKE EYES and BULLET.

CROM's first full-length album, "Vengeance", was released this week on Germany's Pure Steel Records and includes a guest appearance by the veteran UK vocalist Dagon (HEATHEN DEITY, FROSTWORK) on the spoken intro to one of the tracks. The full "Vengeance" saga (Vengeance I and II) forms part of the 10-track album. As with previous CROM releases noted fantasy artist Kris Verwimp produced the artwork. "Kris has always done the artwork for my releases," said Grosse. "Aside from being a good friend, he is an astonishing artist who can instinctively put into pictures what CROM's music is all about."
