Former LED ZEPPELIN Bassist To Guest On FOO FIGHTERS Album

February 15, 2005

Former LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones has recorded a guest appearance on the new FOO FIGHTERS album, due on June 8.

"We have a few guests that are playing on the record," Grohl told the Edmonton Sun. "I put (Jones) on our wish list of guests and he actually responded and said that he would do it. And so I talked to him on the phone. Great guy. Nicest guy in the world. And then I got an e-mail the next day saying, 'Hey, if you'd like you can sit with us at our table for the lifetime achievement awards.'

"It was unbelievable. It was pretty surreal."

ZEPPELIN got a lifetime achievement award on Saturday, their first Grammy.

"Robert Plant didn't show but it was amazing," said Grohl, who is also guesting himself on new albums by NINE INCH NAILS and GARBAGE.
