Former STUCK MOJO Frontman BONZ Issues New Video Message
February 13, 2007Former STUCK MOJO vocalist Bonz has posted a new six-minute video message containing some of his new music for the DEAD GOSPEL project. Watch it at this location.
STUCK MOJO guitarist Rich Ward fired Bonz from the band in July 2006, claiming that the frontman's substance-abuse issues "continue[d] to affect [Bonz's live] performance," in the process "transform[ing] a guy we loved into someone that no one in the band wanted to be around." Ward went on to say that Bonz' refusal to enter a drug and alcohol rehabilitation effectively meant that "he would need to step down" as the band's vocalist. "Everyone from the band, crew, management and those on our extended team felt that this was too big of a risk to take when the careers and livelihoods of everyone involved was at stake to varying degrees," Ward wrote. "To gamble the band's future on someone who is the source of such instability is not an option anymore." [To read Bonz's response to Ward's comments, click here.]
STUCK MOJO, who replaced Bonz with his longtime friend Lord Nelson, recently released its entire new album, "Southern Born Killers", absolutely free for download via the group's web site at www.StuckMojoMedia.com. The response has been overwhelming both in terms of sheer number of tracks downloaded as well as people purchasing a hard-copy of the album directly from the band to show their support. The limited-edition CD is numbered and signed by the band and it includes a bonus DVD with the "Open Season" video, a feature on the making of the video, an interview and more. At the web site above, Rich Ward also explains the rationale behind making the CD available freely for download.
