OSBOURNES Planning Lavish Christmas Party

December 18, 2006

United Press International reports that Sharon Osbourne is set to offer 120 friends and family a lavish Christmas dinner in London that cost her nearly half a million dollars.

The Daily Mail reported that the party thrown by the 54-year-old wife of BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne will include food from the elegant Searcy catering company and will take place in an exclusive London townhouse.

Oddly enough, despite all the glamour of the holiday dinner, one source claimed that Sharon Osbourne had originally planned a more expansive celebration for Christmas.

"Sharon had been planning a Beckham-style party at their Berkshire mansion, but decided to go for something a little more low-key," the source told the Daily Mail. "She thinks she is hosting an intimate party, although most people wouldn't consider splashing out 250,000 pounds ($487,000) as intimate."

Singer Kelly Osbourne, who will attend her mother's party with her brother Jack, told the paper that the event will still hold true to the philanthropic nature of the holiday as well.

"All the guests have been asked to bring a toy along," the 22-year-old said to the newspaper, "and at the end of the night all of the toys will be collected together and given to children's charities."
