December 20, 2010Evans Drumheads spoke to Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX),Shawn Drover (MEGADETH) and Dave Lombardo (SLAYER) during the recently completed Jägermeister Music Tour. You can now watch the chat below.
ANTHRAX released the "Live At The Sonisphere" 10-inch single — a picture disc featuring the tracks "Medusa" and "Only" from the "The Big Four: Live From Sofia, Bulgaria" DVD and Blu-ray — on November 26 via Metal Club, a group of record stores throughout the U.S. and Canada that work to connect the vibrant metal community with their local record store. Fans are able to visit their local Metal Club store for special metal promotional pieces, exciting in-store events, and a series of exclusive Metal Club releases.
SLAYER and MEGADETH will team up for the "European Carnage Tour 2011" in March/April.
Wrapping up one of the most memorable years of the band's career, SLAYER made available a previously unreleased track, "Atrocity Vendor", as part of a special limited-edition seven-inch single. Written by Kerry King, the track was recorded during the 2009 "World Painted Blood" sessions, and was released on "Black Friday," November 26, exclusively through Metal Club, the North American indie store consortium that works to connect the metal community with their local "brick and mortar" record stores.
"Atrocity Vendor" was paired with the Tom Araya/Jeff Hanneman-penned track "World Painted Blood", and released in a clear sleeve on a red vinyl disc. Go to www.mymetalclub.com to find a metal record shop near you.
MEGADETH's "Rust In Peace Live" CD — which captures the final night of the band's historic month-long "Rust In Peace" 20th anniversary tour — has sold more than 12,000 copies in the United States since its September release.
SLAYER guitarist Kerry King joined MEGADETH on stage on October 21 at the Gibson Amphitheater to perform MEGADETH's classic "Rattlehead". This marked the first time in 26 years that Kerry played the song with MEGADETH (King took part in MEGADETH's very first shows in February 1984 as the band's second guitarist).
