DARKANE Drummer Joins 'Laid-Back Rock 'N' Roll' Band
October 30, 2004MeinlCymbals.com recently spoke to DARKANE drummer Peter Wildoer to get an update on both his and the band's activities:
"I had to take a long break from November last year until July this summer." says Peter. "This was because I've had problems with my wrists since February 2003. After this long break I started feeling better. In July we've rehearsed again for the first time since November. Later that month we played one gig at local festival and my wrists were feeling much better. We finished writing the last songs for the new album and in September I started rehearsing the new tracks for the upcoming CD. Soon I will start to record the drums for the new and as of yet, untitled CD. Planned release will be in May 2005. This time we will record everything in DARKANE's own studio. Nice to be able to take it easy. Hopefully I'm in great shape again and I'm looking forward to laying down some crazy metal drumming.
"I've also recorded ten tracks with a band called BEN (www.ben.nu) that I'm now also a permanent member of. The musical style of the band is a kind of very laid-back rock'n' roll and is far away from DARKANE's sound. All basic tracks have been recorded live and much of the stuff has been played with rods and brushes. This will be stuff that people who know my drumming won't expect from me. Planned release for the BEN CD is spring/summer 2005. On November 6th DARKANE will perform a live gig at the Danish Aalborg Metal Festival. I will also do a clinic in the festival area. Be sure to be there both for the clinic and the gig!"
