KILL II THIS Announce Name Change, Post New Music Online

October 21, 2004

KILL II THIS mainman/guitarist Mark Mynett has posted the following message on the group's web site:

"Firstly, an apology for the delay in getting this up, there has been an unbelievable amount of activity and changes being made and it is only now that I can accurately get the relevant details posted…

"The album has been completed and mastered for nearly 10 days now. It really has turned out a lot better than any of us had imagined, and the incredibly strong feedback from the record labels that have heard it so far, has caused us to have a complete rethink about the album’s release and its prospective future.

"Quite apart from their really positive reaction, many of these labels have felt that stylistically, the album bears very little resemblance to any previous KILL II THIS albums. Rather than just being 'the final KILL II THIS album,' many of these labels have therefore felt it should be given a new lease of life and be released under a new name.

"After careful consideration, we have collectively made the decision to take heed of this advice.

"The new name is to be CITY OF GOD and the title of the album has now changed to 'A New Spiritual Mountain'.

"The web site, hosted by Icon Digital Media, is under construction at the moment and the relevant addresses are www.cityofgod.co.uk, as well as www.cityofgod1.com.

"Although we aren't posting up the tracks which we consider to be the album's best, final album versions of the track 'When Broken Glass Floats' (mp3) as well as 'Prisms' (mp3) have now been posted. Hope you like them as much as we do.

"Finally, clearly all the above points to the obvious, that this is indeed the end of the road for KILL II THIS, even if in name alone. Once again, I find myself unable to find the right words to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported the band over the years."
